I’ve had a deep love for dogs for as long as I can remember, starting with a basset hound and a collie during my childhood. My agility journey began in 2002 with a lab mix named Satine. Although we learned the basics, my focus shifted to my horse hobby for a time. However, after moving to Colorado, I rediscovered my passion for agility with Satine and my first boxer, Ace. I witnessed the profound impact agility had on Ace’s confidence, and I realized how much fun it was to share this sport with my dogs.

As I continued to explore agility, I competed in multiple venues with my other boxer, Morgie, and my husky/lab mix, Kailani. Together, they earned over 20 agility championships. Today, I still compete with Kailani and my border whippet, BeMo, who has placed among the top 10% in several classes at multiple Championships. Kailani even earned a 6th place at the AKC Finals. My up-and-coming competitor is Mena, a Beardie/Border-Whippet mix, who promises to be a future star. Besides agility, my dogs also play in other sports such as dock diving, barn hunt, and lure coursing.

While the thrill of competition is exciting, my true joy comes from the connection I share with my dogs, watching them grow and develop a deeper understanding of the sport. Every dog teaches me something new, making each experience rewarding.

This passion for learning and teaching naturally led me from a career in higher education to becoming a full-time agility coach. After years of leadership and training, transitioning to coaching dogs and their owners was the best decision I ever made. Watching each team evolve is incredibly fulfilling, and I am grateful to help people and their canine companions discover the joy of agility.
