We found Mel shortly after moving to Colorado. Having moved around a lot, we've worked with a couple of different agility instructors, including a retired NADAC judge. Mel is by far the best.

In a little under a year, we've made more progress than we did in 2-3 years working with other instructors. Maizy is now diving through weaves (we never learned those properly) and reliably hitting her running contacts (something we've always struggled with.) We've learned all kinds of new vocabulary and are able to tackle courses I never thought were in the cards for my highly independent, non-herding breed.

I also really appreciate that Mel is able to tailor what she's teaching to different dog personalities and training goals rather than a "one size fits all" approach. Trials are way more fun now and Maizy gets so excited when we pull up for class each week.

Melanie is such a wonderful agility trainer. She is very good with all breeds. My sensitive bearded collie pup loves working with Melanie. She is kind, knows how to make it fun.

She’s always encouraging, her classes are very organized and supportive, but not overly rigid. She tailors her teaching and advice to fit you and your dog, and her proficiency in animal behavior and tendencies makes her an excellent and empathetic trainer.

I only wish I could’ve started my dog as a puppy with Melanie. We could’ve avoided a lot of bad habits and confidence issues. We’re so thankful to know her and train with her now. We are looking forward to reaching out now lofty agility goals under her wing!

Agility is not only a physical game for the dog and handler, but it's an intense mental game as well. Melanie has been very patient and forgiving with me as I train my most capable agility dog in the past 20 years.

Gustav is a fast dog with attitude, so he poses his own challenges and knows how to push buttons. Melanie pushes me to be better and more precise in handling, but she is also forgiving and understanding when the frustration hits. No matter how many times we have to practice one move, she's determined to get me to do it right.

I appreciate her ability to work through training issues and find a way to make it make sense to both of us. I also appreciate her care and understanding as a trainer. She wants the best for each and every student.

Melanie is our favorite trainer to work with. She makes agility fun for the handler and the dog by focusing on the bond and connection. Amir has grown so much in the sport since working with her, enjoying every run so much more. She is supportive of any questions you may have both at class, away from class, and at trials. She’s helped me find a good diet for my dogs. I recently got another dog who was very fearful. Melanie has been helping Loki gain so much confidence through agility. He honestly finds it to be one of the best games we play together now. Melanie has made the agility world accessible and fun for us.
